Meet Our Assessors

CLOSE Keir has worked in education for over fifteen years as a full time SENCO and Assistant Headteacher at a mainstream secondary school. Keir holds a current PATOSS SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate as well as an: MA in Education; ATS; PPAR; PAPPA; NASENCo; PGCE; BA (Hons).

Alison has over 20 years of teaching and SENCo experience across both junior and senior schools. She is an experienced Maths teacher who is able to advise on interventions to support difficulties in Maths as well as Literacy.

Alison holds a current PATOSS SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate as well as the following qualifications: Dip RSA; PGCE; MA; BA(Hons) in Psychology.

Alison is DBS checked and holds professional indemnity insurance.

CLOSE Camilla is the SENDCo at an independent senior school. She qualified as a teacher from Durham University in 1996 and has over 25 years of teaching experience within both the state and independent sectors in primary, secondary and specialist settings. She holds a current APC and also regularly assesses students for access arrangements. Camilla has just completed her MEd in SEND.

CLOSE Kate over 25 years of teaching experience in comprehensive and grammar schools. She is currently an SEN teacher and Access Arrangements Assessor at a large independent boarding school. Kate holds a BDA SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate as well asL CCET; PGCE; BA (Hons). She is registered with PATOSS and The British Psychological Society. Kate assesses students for Access Arrangements.

CLOSE Caitríona has taught and assessed pupils with SpLD in the UK and the USA for over 20 years. A qualified English and EAL teacher, she also supports those with Maths difficulties at GCSE level. Caitríona holds a PATOSS SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate and is a registered assessor with The British Psychological Society.

CLOSE Laura has over 20 years of teaching experience in both independent and state settings. She is currently a SENCo at a large mainstream secondary school. Laura holds a APC as well as a Post Grad Certificate in Inclusion and Institutional Development; NPQSL; AMBDA; BA (Hons) with QTS and is currently studying for the NASENCo. Laura is DBS checked and holds professional indemnity insurance.

CLOSE Sally has over 20 years of teaching experience, mostly within a Special Needs School for pupils with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. She tutors at a British university as a dyslexia specialist. Sally holds a current PATOSS SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate as well as an MA in Special Educational Needs; AMBDA; NASENCo; PGCE; BA (Hons).

CLOSE Rosie has worked across primary and secondary age education for over 20 years and has been assessing since 2012. Rosie holds a current PATOSS SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), PGCE SpLD Dyslexia (AMBDA), Bsc (Hons) and QTS. She conducts assessments for DSA applications. Rosie also works in the SEN Team at a LEA and has knowledge of the EHCP process.

CLOSE Wendy has over 12 years of assessment and tutor experience, working across Primary, Secondary & International Schools, Further Education, Universities, The NHS & Work-Based Assessments. Wendy holds a PATOSS SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate as well as a Post Grad. Diploma in SpLD; PGCE; BA, Irlen Certification.

CLOSE Claire has over 25 years of teaching experience as a literacy and EAL teacher in both primary and secondary education. She currently works as a specialist dyslexia teacher in many primary schools. Claire holds a current BDA SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate as well as AMBDA; PGCE, BA (Hons) and an MA in Education. She has also worked in a CAMHS and has experience of working with children and young people with mental health issues.

CLOSE Sara is an experienced and empathetic assessor who holds a current Assessment Practising Certificate from PATOSS. She has over 20 years of experience carrying out full diagnostic assessments and assessments for exam access arrangements. She worked for 18 years in a college of further education before starting her freelance career 5 years ago. She has a PGCE in post 16 education and post graduate diplomas in Dyslexia and Enabling Learning.

CLOSE Jayne has over 15 years of experience as both an Early Years Teacher and an Assistant SENDCo in a selective Grammar School. She has extensive experience of working with children with additional educational needs. Jayne is an Associate Member of the BDA and holds a current SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate as well as a: PG Cert SpLD; EYTS; BSc (Hons) Business and Management.

CLOSE Lucy has over 25 years of teaching experience in comprehensive, grammar and independent schools. She is currently an SEN teacher and Access Arrangements Assessor at a small independent school in Cheshire. Lucy holds a Patoss SpLD APC  as well a Level 7 SpLD Dyslexia cert and BA (Hons) with QTS. Lucy is DBS checked and holds professional indemnity insurance.

CLOSE Sadiya has over 20 years of experience as a qualified teacher and SENCO specialising in Neurodiversity and EAL. Sadiya has worked in both state and independent schools in the UK and internationally. She possesses a BDA SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate as well as a NASENCo and PGCE with QTS.

CLOSE Kate has over 10 years’ experience working in education, especially SEN, and a Psychology BSc. Kate is a Level 7 Specialist Teacher and assessor of Specific Learning Difficulties. She is qualified and experienced in assessing all age groups. She is a registered member of PATOSS. Kate is DBS checked and holds professional indemnity insurance.

CLOSE Becky worked with young people for 13 years in an alternative education. She has worked as a Level 7 SpLD assessor for 9 years. She is qualified and experienced in assessing all age groups, possessing a good awareness of assessments to apply for Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) and Access to Work. She is a registered member of PATOSS, is DBS checked and holds professional indemnity insurance.

CLOSE Irene has over 20 years experience of teaching, assessing and supporting students in Higher Education. She has a PhD in educational research in dyslexia. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a qualified teacher and teacher of English as an additional language. She holds a current Assessor Practicing Certificate with PATOSS, a DBS certificate and professional indemnity insurance.
